My background
It is impossible to imagine my life without music! I have enjoyed private lessons, choir, concert band, marching band, and musical theatre for as long as I can remember.
I received Bachelor's degrees in music and science from the Schulich School of Music at McGill University with a minor in music education. I am also an alumnus of the RCM program.
Why do I teach?
Music is important for many reasons! Everyone enjoys music, but making music can seem daunting. I believe anyone who can appreciate music can make it, too.
Philosophy and methods
My teaching centres around the art of music-making and music as a vehicle of expression. My goal is to equip students with the tools and understanding to approach new music and musical challenges. I believe that learning occurs best when students are active participants in an exploratory learning process, so I ask lots of questions and I encourage my students to do the same!
